Obituary for Mary K. Kempf

Mary K. Kempf (Baggesen), 97, formerly of Warrington Street died Tuesday at the Alpine Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Francis H. Kempf.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Randolph C. and Mary A. (Grace) Baggesen. She was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Kempf was a homemaker. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Albert Cahill VFW Post. She served on the St. Michael Church Parish Council and volunteered at the Veterans Hospital for over twenty years.

She leaves two sons, John F. Kempf and his wife Marcia of North Scituate; Francis H. Kempf, Jr. and his wife, Jill of Cumberland; two daughters, Mary Gliottone and her husband, Richard of Coventry and Susanne DeSimone of West Warwick; a sister, Dorothy Taylor of Riverside, fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Howard R. Kempf and Kathleen M. Ouelette, sister of the late, Charles Baggesen, Randolph ‘Bud’ Baggesen, Edward Baggesen, Virginia Yaremchoak and Joan Laprocina.

Her funeral will be Monday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Oxford Street, Providence at 10 AM. Calling Hours Sunday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to the RI DAV 380 Westminster Mall Providence, RI 02903 will be appreciated. Burial will be the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
