Mildred I. Fitzgerald (Williams), 86, of Cranston Street passed away Sunday after a long independent life and a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William D. Fitzgerald.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Irene (Connolly) Williams. Mrs. Fitzgerald lived in Cranston for the past eight years and had previously lived in Warwick. She was a direct descendent of Roger Williams, founder of the Rhode Island Colony.
She leaves two sons, James A. Williams of North Kingstown, Michael Fitzgerald and his partner Brook DeMerchant of Hope, RI; one daughter, Sandra F. Harper and her husband, John of East Greenwich, a sister, Shirley A. Galvin and her husband, Paul of Cranston; four grandchildren Scott Williams, Shad Williams, Tammy Williamson and John Harper, Jr. and Five great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Anne Richardson and sister of the late Roger Williams.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 AM in the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Calling Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
