Shirley E. Smith (Perry), 75, of Hanover Street died Friday at Harborside Pawtuxet Village. She was the wife of the late James J. Smith, Jr.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Francis X. and Mary C. (Sullivan) Perry, she had been a Warwick resident since 1956. Mrs. Smith was a clerk in the CCRI bookstore for 25 years before retiring in 1996. She enjoyed boating and fishing and the company of her family and friends.
She leaves 3 daughters, Brenda J. Smith of Warwick, Sharon E. Smith of Sommerville, MA and Jean M. Mantaian and her husband George of Warwick; 2 Grandsons, Tyler and Ryan Mantaian. She was the sister of the late Francis X. Perry, Jr.
Her funeral will be Monday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Kevin Church, Sandy Lane, Warwick at 10 AM. Calling Hours Sunday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to Beacon Hospice 6946 Post Road North Kingstown, RI 02852 will be appreciated. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
